Your contact is interested to help you with your map, but he has recently lost some of his books when the ship carrying them came under attack by pirates. The crates with the books were thrown overboard and could possibly still be salvaged if you went to pick them up.

To finish the mission, you just have to collect a crate and then make it to the exit point. There will be five hostile pirate ships in the area, ranging from level 1 to level 5. Killing them is not required for the mission. Note that the crate will vanish, causing mission failure, if you stop to board a ship before picking up the crate.
