It was mutiny! The fate of your client's husband is still unclear. Board his old ship and apprehend the leader of the mutineers to question him.
The ship you have to board will be about a level 17 starter ship. He comes with two level 12-16 escorts, but your main target's ship is weak enough that it's pretty quick to knock out his sails and board him.
