Moderately quick for a merchant ship, the Dromedary has a good mixture of combat and merchant capabilities. The downside is that she takes a more experienced captain to sail than other 16-gun ships.

History

West Indiamen such as the 'Dromedary' are the workhorses of the cross-Atlantic trade with Europe. Able to carry a good sized load of goods and passengers these ships are prime targets for enemies. Frigate rigged these broad beamed ships are good sailors but not race horses. Consequently they are well armed for their size and purpose.

Strategy and Use

This ship is able to hold its own with most other vessels of its level. A Freetrader may use this level 20 ship as a PvE mission ship instead of a corvette or light frigate.

Tactics

Because of the outfitting Medium Long-Barreled Guns 3, this ship has the longest broadside range of any ship in the game. This means that even in combat against ships of the line, this Indiaman can keep out of range of their guns while continuing to fire.
