Your contact wants to send a message to a powerful rival that's controlling a nearby town: you are to track down one of this rival's most valuable ships and capture it.
The ship you have to board will be about level 21, and it will be accompanied by two lower-level escorts (between level 14 and 17). You'll have two NPC ships to help you out as well. As usual for missions which revolve around boarding, your allies seem to use mainly dismantling shot. This means that if you want to get the extra xp from the escorts, you can first concentrate on them while your allies go to work on the main target. By the time you finish those two off, the merchantman should be pretty much dead in the water and an easy target.
