A massive galleon with a heavy arsenal of chasers and more cargo capacity than any other ship. Her broadside doesn't compete with line ships, but the chasers give her versatility. The Couronne is powerful, slow and hard to maneuver.
(This is the text as quoted in-game on the deed for a 'Couronne' Galleon. It should be noted, however, that the 'San Mateo' Trader's Galleon has the same cargo capacity, and the 'Leviathan' Bark has more, at 3500.)

History
La Couronne (French for "crown") was an emblematic ship of the French Navy built by Richelieu.
La Couronne was a war Galleon built by the French themselves in accordance to Richelieu's plans to renew the French Navy, after a series of ships built by the Dutch. The construction was supervised by Issac de Launay Razilly (who later assumed command of the ship)[1], and overseen by the famous carpenter Charles Morieur, from Dieppe. She was being constructed at Roache-Bernard; and was one of the most advanced units of her time. She bore 68 heavy guns, 8 firing to the bow and 8 to the aft, an unusual feature until Dupuy de Lôme redesigned naval artillery.
The Couronne took part in the siege of Hondarribia in 1638, and another expedition to Spain in 1639 under Henri de Sourdis.
Strategy and Use
The Couronne is an old ship-of-the line downgraded to a heavy transport ship with half her complement of guns and men removed to make room for cargo. Despite that fact she is still a formidable ship and able to stand in the line of battle. For wealthy Freetraders the Couronne is their best bet for Port Battles apart from the 'Couronne' Mastercraft Galleon (added in version 1.6).
Tactics
Slow acceleration and poor turning means that this ship, like other ships of the line, should be deployed in a close, well disciplined formation. Stay at extreme range (20 lbrs. have a base range of 625 yards) and pound the enemy line of battle with focused fire from the line. Avoid falling out of formation as this leaves the galleon vulnerable to being demasted and then sunk.
