A Small unarmed trade ship.

History

The skipper of a chasse-maree was typically a wholesale fish monger who purchased fresh fish from fishermen at sea and rushed it to inland markets with the tide. The name has often been translated to "tide-chaser" which is not literal but close to the use of the vessel. Many ship captains would pick up cargoes for the return trip. The small two-masted lugger was supplanted by the three-masted lugger. This model was designed by Marion van Ghent.

Strategy and Use

The small chasse-maree is a fast smuggler with a good OS speed that can be easily upgraded by the appropriate outfittings such as studding sails.

Tactics

As a non-combat ship this vessel may be overlooked by players looking for PvP for MOV's and loot. Properly equipped this vessel may escape capture by sailing upwind. However the lack of guns limits the survivability of this ship.
