History
Modeled after plans for the Friedrich Wilhelm zu Pferde, flagship of the Brandenburg fleet (1685 - 1693). Friedrich Wilhelm I. contracted dutch shipwrights for the building of the fleet, which is evident in the lines and principles used to build the Friedrich Wilhelm. She operated from her port of registry in Emden at the Frisian coast. The ship's main voyages led her to the west coast of africa to establish colonies.
